For Buyers — Everything in One Place

Your buyer dashboard shows:

  • All active requests and how many quotes each has received so far.
  • New quote notifications with price, condition grade, warranty, seller location and star rating.
  • Side-by-side quote comparison including landed cost (part + postage).
  • Order history and delivery status for accepted quotes.
  • Dispute history and resolution status for any claims raised.

Comparing Quotes

Each quote card displays everything you need to make an informed decision: the part price, postage cost, combined total, seller name, star rating (out of 5), number of completed sales, condition grade (A, B or C), warranty duration, and the seller's state. You can message a seller directly from the quote card before committing.

For Sellers — Browse and Quote on Open Requests

Registered wreckers and dismantlers can browse the full feed of open buyer requests. Filter by part category, vehicle make, or request age. Quote directly from the request feed — set your price, condition grade, warranty and postage option, then submit. Accepted quotes trigger an immediate order notification so you can ship promptly.

What Happens After You Accept a Quote

Once you accept a quote and complete payment:

  • GearSwap holds the payment in escrow and notifies the seller to ship.
  • The seller ships and marks the order as dispatched with tracking details.
  • You receive a tracking notification and can follow delivery progress.
  • On delivery, confirm receipt in your dashboard to release payment to the seller.
  • Leave a star rating and short review — it helps other buyers choose wisely.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I accept more than one quote for the same request?

You can only accept one quote per request. Once accepted, the request is marked fulfilled and other quotes expire. If you need multiple quantities of the same part, post separate requests.

What if a seller never ships after I pay?

GearSwap holds your payment in escrow. If the seller doesn't provide tracking within the agreed timeframe, raise a dispute and our team will intervene and issue a full refund if the seller can't prove shipment.

Can I withdraw a request if I found the part elsewhere?

Yes. Open requests can be cancelled from the dashboard at any time before you've accepted a quote. If a seller has already quoted, please decline the quote as a courtesy.
