Our Supplier Network

Every part listed on GearSwap Marketplace comes from a verified Australian auto wrecker, dismantler or auto recycler. We don't source from overseas, we don't sell new parts, and we don't allow unverified sellers. What you see on GearSwap is genuine Australian recycled stock, graded and backed by a real business you can hold accountable.

A National Wrecker Network

GearSwap's supplier network spans every Australian state and territory — from major metropolitan dismantlers processing hundreds of vehicles a month to specialist regional yards with deep stock in particular makes. This geographic spread means buyers in Perth, Darwin or Hobart get competitive quotes, not just east-coast options.

How We Verify Sellers

Every supplier goes through a multi-step verification before their store goes live:

  • Identity verification: government-issued ID matched against ABR and ASIC records.
  • Active Australian Business Number (ABN) confirmed via ABR lookup.
  • Dismantler or motor vehicle dealer licence checked where required by state law.
  • Sample inventory review: new sellers submit a batch of listings which are spot-checked for accurate grading before full approval.
  • Ongoing performance monitoring: buyer ratings, dispute rates and response-time scores are tracked. Stores that underperform are paused pending a review.

Part Grading Standards

All sellers must grade their parts using GearSwap's three-tier condition scale:

  • Grade A — Excellent: low-kilometre part in near-new condition, minimal or no visible wear.
  • Grade B — Good: normal used condition with light wear consistent with age; fully functional.
  • Grade C — Serviceable: cosmetic wear or minor faults disclosed; functional but not cosmetically pristine.

Warranty Requirements

All GearSwap sellers must offer a minimum 30-day warranty on every part they list. Many provide 60- or 90-day cover. Warranty terms are displayed prominently on every listing and quote. If a part fails within the warranty period, the buyer can raise a warranty claim through the platform and the seller is obligated to replace or refund.

Seller Tools and Platform Benefits

Suppliers who list on GearSwap get access to:

  • A public storefront with their yard's profile, specialties and buyer reviews.
  • Inventory management tools: individual listings, CSV bulk upload, and Cap-Ezi integration.

  • GearSwap AI features for vendors (GS.AI plan): pricing intelligence, eBay sync, Trade Me integration, and automated ad generation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can private sellers list parts on GearSwap?

GearSwap Marketplace is currently restricted to verified business sellers — licensed auto wreckers, dismantlers and recyclers with an active ABN. Private individual sellers are not currently accepted.

How many sellers are on the platform?

Our active seller count grows regularly. The network spans every Australian state and territory, with particular depth in NSW, VIC, QLD and WA — the states with the highest volume of registered wrecking yards.

What happens if a seller's store is paused?

If a seller's store is paused, their listings are hidden from search and they can't receive new orders. Any outstanding orders continue to be managed and buyers are protected by escrow. Sellers can appeal a pause by contacting sellers@gearswap.au.

Do suppliers have to pay to list?

Listing on GearSwap is free. GearSwap charges a small transaction fee on completed sales only — there are no monthly listing fees for the standard marketplace plan. Advanced tools (AI pricing, multi-channel sync) are available on the GS.AI plan.

Can overseas sellers supply parts to Australian buyers?

No. GearSwap Marketplace is currently restricted to Australian-based sellers with an active ABN. All parts must be shipped from within Australia.
