Interior parts — frequently asked questions
Can I buy a single used seat or do I need a set?
Both — wreckers sell driver and passenger seats individually, and full sets (including rears) are also available when the donor interior is intact. For a single seat replacement, ask for photos showing wear so the new seat doesn't look out of place next to your existing ones.
How are used interior trim colours matched?
Wreckers list interior trim colour and material (cloth, leather, vinyl) with the donor vehicle's trim code where available. For a precise match — especially on leather and premium trims — supply your VIN so the wrecker can confirm the donor was the same trim package.
Are used airbag-equipped seats safe to fit?
Used seats with side-airbag assemblies must come from a vehicle where that airbag did not deploy. Reputable wreckers check this at dismantling. Always confirm in writing that any side airbag in a used seat is undeployed and within the manufacturer's stated service life.
Can I buy a used dashboard?
Yes — full dashboards including instrument cluster, vents and trim are commonly available. Note: in cars where airbags are integrated into the dash, the donor airbag must be undeployed. Dashboards are bulky freight items, so factor in pallet freight when comparing prices.
